Jason Hickman Memorial

Sgt. 1st Class Jason Hickman is remembered at a memorial ceremony hosted by the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division Tuesday  February 23, 2010 on Ft. Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. Hickman, who was born in Anchorage when his father was stationed here, died in Afghanistan January 7 of wounds suffered in an attack on Combat Outpost Bowri Tana. He leaves behind wife Tiffany and three young sons ages 6, 5 and 2. I had no regrets, said Tiffany about Jason deploying overseas to serve his country. I still have no regrets. She asks citizens to Thank a soldier when they see one, and thank their families as well.

Anchorage's Airport Railroad Terminal

The upstairs terminal is empty in the Bill Sheffield Alaska Railroad Depot at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. The facility used to be available for hosting events over the winter, but now remains closed from mid-September to mid-May.

Cruisin' the Fossil Freeway

Ketchikan artist Ray Troll has 20 paintings and five murals on display at the "Cruisin' the Fossil Freeway" exhibit in Seattle. Shells, skulls, bones, impressions and other fossils make up the collection, and are part of a book, also titled, "Cruisin' the Fossil Freeway," written by paleontologist Kirk Johnson and illustrated by Troll.
