Shirilla on the brink

Melanie Shirilla finished second to Sam Perrino in Tuesday's 30-mile stage in the International Pedigree Stage Stop sled dog race in Wyoming, but she still leads the race.

The event concludes today with a 15-mile stage. Shirilla leads reigning Iditarod champion Doug Swingley by more than an hour in the overall standings.
