Police identified the suspect as Nicholas Showers-Glover, 22, and said he is considered armed and dangerous.
The shooting at a duplex on San Juan Circle, Boniface and Sixth Avenue, occurred just after 3 p.m. Police were not yet releasing the names of the victims.
The two victims and suspect apparently knew each other and may even have been staying in the home together, said police Sgt. Slav Markiewicz.
The male victim was shot in the thigh and hand. He was rolled out of the home on a gurney just after the shooting, conscious and naked.
About a dozen police vehicles were on scene. Police had guns drawn as they went from home to home on the cul-de-sac, looking for Showers-Glover. A helicopter circled overhead.
Markiewicz said police had a good idea of what happened but were not yet releasing the details.
Anyone with information about Showers-Glover is asked to call police at 786-8900.
