"Still waiting," said Eric Gonzalez, an FBI special agent and spokesman.
"He's probably holed up somewhere," Gonzalez said. "We're hoping someone calls us and lets us know where he's at."
Federal agents want to arrest Wade, 27, because they believe he used the 52-year-old nurse's ATM card twice to withdraw a total of $1,000 in the first days after she disappeared Aug. 3. Wade has been charged in federal court with bank fraud as a result.
Wade lived next door to Schloss on Cutty Sark Street in South Anchorage, but wasn't there when agents searched the home where he lived on Aug. 18. A roommate said he left six hours earlier.
Wade was acquitted by a jury in 2003 on charges that he raped and beat to death 33-year-old Della Brown, whose body was found in September 2000. He served time in jail for an evidence tampering conviction related to that case and was released in 2004.
More than 50 people have called Anchorage police with tips, police spokesman Paul Honeman said.
"He could be literally anywhere in the state and could have even left the state," Honeman said. "But we know about his circumstances and don't believe he has the resources to get out of the state."
Police say Wade is believed to be armed and dangerous. They ask anyone with information about him or Schloss' disappearance to call police at 786-8500 or the FBI at 276-4441. Anonymous tips can also be phoned in to Crime Stoppers at 561-7867.
Friends of Schloss are offering $5,000 for information leading to her body, and the FBI is offering a $2,500 reward. Crime Stoppers provides $1,000 for information that leads to a conviction.
