Fire investigators sifting through the rubble at the Anchorage Korean Church of Christ on Parsons Avenue found evidence that a liquid accelerant was dumped and intentionally lit, the department said.
The fire broke out at about 4 a.m. Sunday, long after the last person had left for the day. No one was in the building at time of the fire and there were no injuries. But the fire burned though the church's roof and caused extensive smoke damage throughout, with total damage estimated at more than $100,000, firefighters said.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 561-7867.
