SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- A report from the National Safety Council says Alaska has the lowest death rate from accidental falls among people over age 65.

The rate was highest in New Mexico at 99 deaths per 100,000.

In Alaska it was 15 per 100,000.

The National Safety Council says a fall is now the leading cause of injury deaths nationwide in that age group.
