The price of North Slope oil sold on West Coast open markets closed Thursday at $124.12 a barrel, down 10 cents for the day.

The U.S. natural gas price, at the Lower 48's Henry Hub, was $11.40 per million BTU on Thursday, down 9 cents from Wednesday's price.

Gold prices closed at $879 per ounce today on the New York Mercantile Exchange, a gain of $13.60.
