The victory extended the Pilots' winning streak to six games overall and four in ABL games.
Peterson did not allow a hit through four innings and struck out eight in that span, and his Miners held a 1-0 lead.
Pilots hitter Luc Yoder finally cracked Peterson for a one-out single in the fifth. With two outs, Peterson walked three straight hitters to force in a run for a 1-1 tie before Todd Sebek's two-run double gave the Pilots a 3-1 lead.
Peterson finished with 11 strikeouts in five innings.
After Mat-Su closed to within one run, 3-2, in the top of the sixth, Anchorage's Joseph Terdoslavich scored on Yoder's RBI single in the bottom of the inning to restore the two-run lead at 4-2.
While Peterson was showy early, the Glacier Pilots' pitching depth prevailed. Starter Darrin Campbell (3-1) allowed one earned run in six innings, Zachary Quate pitched two scoreless innings of relief and Eric Best worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his fifth save.
Fire 10, Bucs 4
The Anchorage Bucs' mid-season woes continued Tuesday night in Fairbanks as they took sole possession of last place in the ABL standings for the first time this season.
Bucs starter Drew Gagnier surrendered six runs in the first inning on two singles, two triples, two hit batsmen and a wild pitch.
The Fire scored two more runs in the third inning on Caleb King's RBI single and Nick Crawford RBI triple -- the third RBI triple of the game.
The Bucs cut their 8-2 deficit in half when Corey Steglich crushed a 2-run homer for his second of the season.
Paul Goldschmidt provided the only other spark in the Bucs offense, going 3 for 5. The designated hitter has hit safely in 16 of his last 19 games.
Gagnier (0-2) lasted five-plus innings, giving up 10 runs on 12 hits.
Oilers 1, Taiwan 0
With an ERA less than 1.00, Peninsula Oilers closer Seth Harvey is usually a save waiting to happen. Taiwan, however, made him work for his seventh save Tuesday in Kenai.
The righthander left the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning to help the Oilers win their fourth straight.
Oilers starter Jarryd Summers earned the victory after scattering one hit over six innings and striking out seven.
