The Aces of the ECHL today announced the signings of forwards Brett Hemingway and Colin Hemingway.
Brett, 24, is a returning Ace. After stops in Fresno and Reading in his rookie season last campaign, Brett joined the Aces after a January trade. He earned 11-15—26 totals in 25 games, and aided the power play.
Colin, 27, is a returner of sorts – he played five games for the Aces in their 2005-06 Kelly Cup season. He spent last season with the Edinburgh (Scotland) Capitals in the Elite Ice Hockey League, racking 41-41—82 totals in 57 games to finish third in the league in goals and 10th in points.
Colin played three NHL games for the St. Louis Blues in 2005-06. In 84 career ECHL games, he has produced 42-46—88 totals.
Previous brother tandems to play for the Aces include Joe and Julian Talbot – Joe spent last season playing in England and Julian spent it with the Peoria Rivermen, the Aces’ affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Chris and Barrett Heisten, both retired, also played for the Aces.
