The price of North Slope oil sold on West Coast open markets closed Wednesday at $114.28 a barrel, up $0.45 for the day.

U.S. natural gas, at the Lower 48's Henry Hub, was $8.02 per million BTU today, up $0.30.

Gold closed at $810.30 per ounce today on the New York Mercantile Exchange, down $0.80.
