Four-time Iditarod champion Jeff King and former Yukon Quest winner Aliy Zirkle have each signed up for the Sheep Mountain 150 sled dog race.
King and Zirkle will be rookies in the fourth annual race, scheduled for Dec. 13-14. The race starts and ends at Sheep Mountain Lodge and covers 150 miles with two five-hour layovers at Eureka Lodge.
Last year's race was cancelled due to lack of snow.
So far, 42 teams have signed up since registration opened Oct. 1. The field is limited to 50 teams. Defending Sheep Mountain winner Lance Mackey has not yet signed up.
