Although it's known for wedding cakes, Superstar Pastry Design also serves up everyday treats such as brownies, cookies and croissants. Open early with an espresso drive-through and a Wi-Fi-equipped lounge, the Minnesota bakery has everything you need for a sweet escape. There's some variation in what's available day-to-day, but popular items such as the Drunken Turtle Brownie tend to stay on the menu.
If you're in the mood for something rich, try the saucer-sized mini cheesecakes. Thick and decadent, they come in flavors such as passion fruit, raspberry-lime and chocolate-peanut butter. I like the pumpkin, a dark-orange cake topped with a layer of pecans and a halo of whipped cream.
