Jonathan Johnson, 19, was in surgery following the crash at about 7:40 a.m. at C Street and 40th Avenue, police Lt. Dave Parker said.
Johnson had been traveling westbound on 40th through the intersection when a white GMC Yukon, driven by Melissa Rabe, 24, traveling south on C Street hit him, Parker said.
Traffic police are continuing their investigation of the accident, Parker said. No charges or citations have been issued.
Dark road conditions were likely a factor, Parker said. Johnson was not wearing reflective gear, he said.
