Forget sprouts, chickpeas and whole-grain bread next time you go to Organic Oasis and opt for a fruit turnover instead. Between the flaky shell and rich fruit innards, the dish sates every aspect of the body from lips to brain stem.
The skin tastes buttery, not oily, while the moist, creamy center offers a relish of deep fruit flavors from a blend of organic Turkish apricots and cling peaches with cream cheese and Grand Marnier. Organic Oasis makes about 100 of these sweet and filling gems a month.
Served with French vanilla ice cream, the dish pretty much fulfills anyone's daily fat requirement, but who cares? The darn thing makes for a delicate but wholesome treat.
