The price of North Slope oil sold on West Coast open markets closed Friday at $44.53 a barrel, down $0.59 for the day.

U.S. natural gas, at the Lower 48's Henry Hub, was $6.55 per million BTU today, down $0.20.

Gold closed at $791.70 per ounce today on the New York Mercantile Exchange, up $43.10.
