Guadalupe and Oscar HernandezOscar Hernandez and Lupe Jimenez were married in Choulula, Mexico, where they met when Oscar moved there from Mexico City. The Anchorage couple plan to celebrate their 50th anniversary with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchild in Phoenix.Shortly after getting married, Oscar and Lupe moved to Chicago. They lived there until 1963, when they briefly moved back to Mexico. In late 1964, they moved to Alaska.Oscar was a waiter and bartender in hotels until he started working as a cook on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline in 1974. In 1978, he opened Oscar's Taco Grande, a small food wagon, at Third Avenue and Post Road. He still works there with his sons, Salomon and Adàn. In 2004, Lupe retired from the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel, where she was supervisor of housekeeping for many years.The Hernandezes have four children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Their children are Salomon Hernandez, Dalila Williams, Hortencia Harmon and Adàn Hernandez. Their grandchildren are Alicia and Anthony Hernandez, Angela Le Londe and Jeramy Williams, Kali, Cody and Tatum Harmon; and their great-grandchild is Nolan Le Londe."Oscar and Lupe have shared many adventures, ups, downs, sideways and byways," Adàn wrote. "They look forward to more great times." Oscar jokingly seeks advice from people regarding retirement plans, the family noted.SEPT. 3, 2008Jessica and Crandall DymentJessica Howard and Crandall Dyment were married Sept. 3 at the bride's parents' home in Chugiak.Angella Long, chief of police of Wasilla, performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Willow Howard of Chugiak (sister of the bride) was maid of honor. Cariann Dyment of Concord, N.H. (twin sister of the bridegroom), Lesley Borkowski, Kayla Nowak and Idolene Martell were bridesmaids.Chris Dyment of Hopkinton, Mass. (brother of the bridegroom), was best man. Jacob Howard (brother of the bride), Jordan Larkins, George Georgopoulis and Corry Mabry were groomsmen. Daniel, son of the bride and bridegroom, was ring bearer and presented the rings hanging from a fishing pole.The couple are co-owners of DH Janitorial Services. They and their son took a wedding trip to New Hampshire to visit family and friends in October.Jessica is the daughter of Johnny and Susan Howard. She graduated from Crossroads High School in Anchorage in 2005.Crandall is the son of Ray and Anna Dyment of Concord. He graduated from Concord High School and was a sergeant in the Marine Corps.DEC. 6, 2008Sabrina Goding and Phil ThomasAnchorage residents Sabrina Goding and Phil Thomas will marry at 5 p.m. Saturday, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2552 E. 48th Ave. Friends of the couple are invited to attend.
