The price of North Slope oil sold on West Coast open markets closed Thursday at $39.17 a barrel, down $3.12 for the day.

U.S. natural gas, at the Lower 48's Henry Hub, was $6.56 per million BTU today, up $0.08.

Gold closed at $763.80 per ounce today on the New York Mercantile Exchange, down $5.00.

Zinc closed at $0.5570 per pound, unchanged for the day.
