Officers arrested Lioncio Pang, 37, on charges of assault, misconduct involving weapons, burglary and reckless endangerment.
The disturbance took place in the 300 block of West Tudor Road at about 2:30 p.m. when Pang walked into the business upset about the recent breakup with his girlfriend, police said. He began punching her in a hallway until a co-worker, Tara Keelan, intervened and locked him out, police said.
Pang then returned moments later carrying the rifle and kicked in the door, police said. On his way in, Black grabbed the rifle and wrestled it away from him, police said. As officers arrived, Pang was trying to regain control of the weapon, they said.
A police investigation revealed that Pang had earlier fired off several shots in his home in the 500 block of East 12th Avenue while two other residents were there, police said.
Pang was booked at the Anchorage jail with bail set at $75,000.
