No signs of a bomb were found, said spokeswoman Catherine Esary. A team from Fort Richardson, including specially trained dogs, went through the school room by room to check out the bomb threat, Esary said early Thursday afternoon.
Esary said the lockdown resulted after two notes were discovered. The first, found by a librarian Wednesday night at a printer in the library, was a sheet of paper with the word "bomb" printed on it. The second note, which triggered the lockdown, was found Thursday morning and had the word "bomb" and the time "1:30" printed on it. Esary said she believed the second note was also found on a library printer.
As a precaution, the district contacted the Wasilla Police Department.
The school is just off Bogard Road in downtown Wasilla. Esary said the school contacted parents by e-mail about the lockdown. Students were also allowed to call their parents by cell phone or by sending a text message.
