FORT WAINWRIGHT -- An autopsy is being done on the body of an Alaska-based soldier found dead at his parents' home in Tennessee.
The Army says 28-year-old Spc. Cody L. Lamb was discovered Sunday morning at the family home in Johnson City, Tenn., while he was on a mid-tour leave.
Unicoi County Sheriff Kent Harris said Thursday foul play is not suspected and suicide has been ruled out. Unicoi County has jurisdiction in the case because Lamb was pronounced dead in that county.
Lamb was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks.
An obituary for Lamb said he was a native of Lapeer, Mich., and is survived by his parents, Tim and Michele Moore Lamb, and his wife, Michele.
