Chicken wing fans who showed up to welcome back a local institution Friday encountered a long line and even longer delivery waits. Wings 'n Things returned to Anchorage after a 16-month absence and, boy, were they missed. The restaurant opened at 10 a.m. and by lunchtime had to stop taking phone calls and faxes because of the order volume. At one point the wait for deliveries was almost three hours. Diners who braved the snowy afternoon weather were greeted at the door by the restaurant's trademark scent of deep-fried wings and spices as well as a full house that included a line snaking through the new location in the Olympic Center strip mall at Arctic Boulevard and 36th Avenue.
