A man who was stabbed in the stomach near the corner of Sixth Avenue and Gambell Street was taken to Alaska Regional Hospital early Saturday evening, the Anchorage Police Department reported.

Police cordoned off the parking lot to the Milepost “0” Apartments at 618 Sixth Avenue and searched the area with a canine team shortly after 7 p.m.

An investigator was questioning “a person of interest,” but no one had been charged or arrested, Sgt. Justin Doll said.
