Juneau Democrats had sent her only the name of state Rep. Beth Kerttula to replace Kim Elton, who resigned March 2 for a job at the Department of the Interior.
Palin then invited other Democrats who wanted the job to apply directly to her office.
Palin said Wednesday she'll interview "some" of the 14 applicants next week.
Palin has 30 days from Elton's resignation to name a replacement. Senate Democrats must confirm.
The applicants are Tim Grussendorf, Gordon Jackson, Peter Naoroz, Joe Nelson, Robert W. Loescher, Andrea Doll, David Newman, Clint J. Farr, Sara Hannan, Alan D. Wilson, Margo W. Waring, Carrie Harris, David J. Moe and Kerttula.
