Duane Williams, 45, was pronounced dead after getting caught in the fire that took place at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, troopers said.

Williams was last seen at about 7 p.m., shortly before the fire was discovered. Neighbors tried to get Williams out of the home but were overcome by smoke, troopers said. The home was a total loss.

Troopers and the state Fire Marshal's office were delayed arriving at the scene until Tuesday because of weather, troopers said.

Investigators say alcohol was involved in the fatality.
