The Wild signed quarterback Damion Ward and center Brian Bevil, a pair of moves to boost a winless team that ranks last in passing offense among the 19 IFL teams.
The Wild (0-2) average 71 passing yards a game and rank 17th in total offense at 149.5 yards a game.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Ward served as a backup quarterback last season for the Fairbanks Grizzlies and played in four games, according to Alaska Wild public relations director Jeff Worthington.
Quarterback Jamie Williamson, who started the first two games for Alaska, is out of the job. The position will be up for grabs this week, Worthington said, between Ward, Pierce Blewett and Earl Mason.
Williamson, who completed 7-of-16 passes for 89 yards, a touchdown and an interception in two games, will move to receiver and defensive back.
Mason replaced Williamson in the first half of last week's game against Maryland and threw for 64 yards on 6-of-15 passing with two interceptions and two touchdowns.
Bevil will compete for the starting job at center was named to the Intense Football League all-star team last year with the San Angelo Stampede Express.
The Wild play their third game of the season Saturday in Laurel, Md., against Maryland, which beat the Wild 49-40 at Sullivan Arena last week.
