The Anchorage Daily News has named Julie Wright as interactive sales manager for ADN.com and Alaska.com. Wright will be in charge of advertising sales and operations for both of the newspaper's Web sites. Wright had previously spent three years as the managing editor in the ADN newsroom. She has 24 years' experience in newspapers in Tennessee, Kansas, Minnesota and Alaska.
NMS has announced that Darrel Evensen has joined the company as part of the camp services division's business unit, water technologies as chief engineer. Evensen is responsible for permitting, engineering, project management and other key functions within the unit. He has more than 20 years' experience in civil and environmental engineering. Adam Harki has been promoted to retail sales branch manager at Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union's Abbott branch. He is responsible for developing branch goals and supervising daily operations at the branch. Harki began his career with the credit union as a financial services officer. The membership of the Alaska Chapter of the American Public Works Association recently elected its 2009 board of directors. Michael L. Foster & Associates Inc., a multidisciplined architecture and engineering firm, welcomes project engineer James Dunbar to the firm's civil and environmental design group. Dunbar has 11 years of experience in civil engineering and 27 years technical experience. He specializes in civil and sanitary engineering, technical design, project and construction management. Timothy W. Gibson with Business Insurance Associates has earned the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist certification. A 1991 graduate of University of Alaska, he provides risk management services for the existing insurance needs of clientele, with a focus on the construction industry. Sharon Kurz, Ph.D., has joined St. Elias Specialty Hospital as chief executive. Kurz brings 25 years of experience in health care leadership. St. Elias Specialty Hospital serves patients who have complex medical conditions and require longer length of stays than an acute hospital. Prior to St. Elias, Kurz served 13 years as vice president of BRP Management Systems in Pocatello, Idaho. Aadland Flint has recently added senior marketing strategist Colin Clarke as vice president of client services. Clarke has more than 15 years of marketing consulting experience and has been with the Flint Group of agencies for more than eight years, most recently as vice president of client services at Flint Communications in Fargo, N.D. He has served as a consultant for a variety of industries, including health care, logistics and production agriculture. Doug Van Etten of Keller Williams Realty recently completed certification as a Certified Distressed Property Expert. This training prepared Van Etten to counsel homeowners in preventing the loss of their homes to foreclosure. Van Etten has been selling real estate in Anchorage since 1992. Janeen Russell has been promoted to Everts Air Cargo sales manager. She joined the company in August 2008 and most recently served as senior account executive. Russell brings over 20 years of aviation and sales experience to her new position, including owning and operating an air taxi out of Yakutat. Lacey Whitehead has been hired as account executive to round out the sales department. She will soon graduate from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in aviation management. Shee Atika Inc. has hired Elliott "Chuck" Wimberly to replace Robert Loiselle as Shee Atika's president and CEO. Wimberly has 25 years of management experience, including 15 years at the senior executive level. His experience includes international business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and East Asia. With an in-depth knowledge of U.S. government acquisition practices, he will be key in Shee Atika's efforts to expand as a government contractor.
