Lance Mackey says he can't make heads nor tails out of all the attention he's receiving after winning his third straight Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

But a new medallion might help.

The Alaska Mint is producing more than 8,500 commemorative coins featuring his likeness. Mint owner Mike Robuck says one side features Mackey hugging two of his dogs. The other notes Mackey's wins in the 1,100-mile sled dog race from Anchorage to Nome from 2007-2009. It also has Mackey's quote, "Dreams do come true."

Prices range from $19.99 for bronze medallions to $1,750 for gold coins, of which only 37 have been produced.

The mint is donating money from the sale of each coin to Mackey's kennels. Robuck says they hope to raise $20,000 for the Fairbanks musher's operations.
