The Anchorage public library's Chugiak-Eagle River branch is closing as of May 10 to start moving into a new, larger location in the Eagle River Town Center, said Gretchen Krug, branch coordinator for the library system. An opening date for the new branch hasn't been set yet. "Our best estimation right now is early fall, though if everything goes right, it could be sooner," said Toni Massari McPherson, community relations coordinator for the libraries. The new branch's amenities will include group study rooms and a teen area, as well as updated furnishings and collections, Krug said.
The existing branch at 12400 Old Glenn Highway will continue receiving checked-out items until the end of May, she said.
