MAY 13

• The Anchorage Small Business Development Center offers "Basic Business Bookkeeping" from 6-9 p.m. at 430 W. Seventh Ave. The importance of developing a systematic and organized accounting operation is emphasized. Also covered are review of some basic concepts for small business, including accounts receivables and payables, profit and loss, cash flow and other financial statements. Cost: $45. • The Alaska Small Business Development Center will offer a workshop titled "Starting Your Own Small Business" from noon-4 p.m. at the Houston Fire Department. There is a $25 fee for the seminar, and pre-registration is required. Space is limited. • The Alaska Small Business Development Center will offer a workshop titled "QuickBooks -- Beginner," from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the SBDC Office in Wasilla. This hands-on (computers provided) seminar will provide information on QuickBooks 2009 for the beginner using the QuickBooks program. Attendees should be familiar with general bookkeeping procedures or have taken the Basic Bookkeeping workshop. Pre-registration and a nonrefundable $100 fee are required. • Need free help updating or renewing your CCR registration? During this CCR open computer lab from 10 a.m.-noon, PTAC will discuss changes CCR has recently implemented and counselors will be available to work one-on-one with you to update or renew your CCR. Attendees must have the following: a DUNS number, TPIN, and e-mail address of the primary point-of-contact, or a user ID and password, if you've already set up a user account. The event will be in University Center, Room 150, 3901 Old Seward Highway, Anchorage.
