Freshman Garrett Brown scattered two hits over five innings and drove in a run Monday as Service shut out Eagle River 6-0 in Cook Inlet Conference action at the South Anchorage Ballfields. Stephen Ferntheil collected two of the Cougars' five hits.

Dimond 40, Bartlett 4

Dimond batted around twice, and them some, in a 20-run first inning Monday that helped the Lynx roll to a 40-4 win over Bartlett.

A pair of players turned in eye-popping performances at the plate in Dimond's 30-hit attack -- Trevor Romo drove in four runs, scored three times and had a triple and a double among his three hits, and Eric Scott drove in four runs, scored twice and had three hits in three at-bats.
