Palin, an unwed mother and the 18-year-old daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, has been appointed as a Teen Ambassador for The Candie's Foundation.
Bristol Palin will participate Wednesday in a town hall meeting in New York.
Palin says in a prepared statement that she feels she could be a living example of the consequences of teen pregnancy, and would consider it an accomplishment if she can prevent even one girl from getting pregnant.
Palin gave birth Dec. 27 to a boy named Tripp. She and the boy's father, Levi Johnston, have separated.
