Charles McCrea, an all-purpose player for the Alaska Wild, has left the team to play for a Finnish outdoor football organization, according to Wild official Jeff Worthington.
McCrea is listed on the roster of the Seinajoki Crocodiles, a team in the European Football League. He told Worthington he has been assigned to the practice squad.
McCrea joined the Wild on April 7 to help shore up their struggling pass defense, but quickly became a key player on both sides of the ball.
He rarely stepped off the artificial turf in four Indoor Football League games, juggling time at defensive back, running back and special teams as a kick returner.
