Temperatures have helped rot ice that jammed near Eagle and other communities, backing up water and flooding communities, according to the National Weather Service. The weather service over the weekend canceled a flood advisory for Nulato after water levels fell.

David Kang, with the state team responding to the emergency, said problems could continue to occur for the next week or two as the ice moves down the Yukon and Kuskokwin rivers.

Slight flooding was reported Monday in Grayling and Anvik.

The weather service reported significant ice and water had passed Anvik after jamming 10 miles upstream of Grayling.

Interior Alaska flooding led to a disaster declaration early this month from Gov. Sarah Palin.

Rick Thoman, chief meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Fairbanks, said Russian Mission and other villages could see flooding as the ice moves toward the Yukon Delta.

Clean-up efforts were continuing Monday in Eagle. The community along the Yukon River has been hit hard by flooding and now is in the process of assessing the damage and doing cleanup.
