Police identify fourth of homeless bodies

The dead man found submerged in Campbell Creek on Saturday has been identified by police as Danny Wright, 56, of Anchorage. Wright's body was the fourth found over a 10-day stretch outdoors in Anchorage. All four who died were men who lived on the streets, and all had been seen within days of their deaths.

Police don't consider the first three deaths suspicious, but Wright was found with a wound to the head. Police are investigating whether it was the result of an assault or an accident. Investigators haven't reached a conclusion on how he died and are waiting for toxicology test results for all the men.

Wright was known to others who lived in the woods as "Papa Smurf." He had a record of offenses including assault and drunken driving from the 1990s but nothing recent, a database of court records shows.
