Alaska State Troopers have identified a body found in a vehicle in Nikiski on Sunday as that of a 20-year-old woman missing from Soldotna since October.
The remains are of Michele Pecora. She was last seen in the Kenai area on Oct. 12. She left her home without identification, money or extra clothing, troopers said.
Franklin Bessette, 52, of Kenai, was charged with her murder shortly after the body was found. Troopers say their investigation is continuing and won't provide any details.
Bessette is in custody.
