The other two weren't previously publicized by police over the holiday weekend, but police say that was an oversight.
According to police, here's what happened:
• The evening of May 20, Jesse Collins, 21, was trying to ride a mountain bike on an arched metal sculpture at 13th Avenue and A Street when he fell and landed on his head. Police performed CPR until medics arrived. Collins was taken to a hospital. He wasn't wearing a helmet and suffered a spinal cord injury, police said.
• Around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, Philip Suemai was riding in a Chevrolet Suburban and made his way through an open window to the outside of the SUV. In the area of Dowling Road and Norm Drive, Suemai fell off. He was critically injured and taken to the hospital. Police say he had been out drinking that night. Derek Mathe, 24, was driving the SUV, according to police Lt. Dave Parker.
Both of the incidents involving vehicles are under investigation, Parker said. Drivers can be charged criminally if their actions are reckless or negligent and cause injury.
"All three of these incidents involved young people engaged in high-risk behaviors, all of which ended with disastrous results," Parker wrote in a press release.
