Accused murderer Joshua Wade will spend his time waiting for his federal trial at the Anchorage jail, federal Judge John Roberts decided Friday. Wade, 29, is accused of kidnapping and killing his neighbor, Mindy Schloss, apparently motivated by trying to steal her ATM card.

Prosecutors are trying for the death penalty, saying this is not the first time Wade has killed. Wade, when he was 23 years old, was acquitted in the murder of a woman whose body was found in a Spenard shack.

Wade's lawyers had argued to keep him housed at a federal prison in Washington, where they are located. Federal prosecutors wanted him moved back to Anchorage.

On Saturday, Wade was at the Anchorage jail.
