Christians asserting that Jesus viewed homosexual orientation as sinful disregard that Jesus taught that gays are born that way and that monks become effeminate "for the sake of the Kingdom." In the Roman/Greek culture of the time, effeminate men were called malakos(Greek) or mollites(Latin). Jesus never mentioned homosexuality specifically in his teaching, but he did talk call for understanding regarding the "eunuchs"' in Mathew 19:10-11.
Because "malakos" served as servants in the seraglios of that gender-segregated society, they were also called "eunokos." So, "eunuch" was also used to denote household position and employment. Many eunuchs of that period were not castrati. In Matthew, it is obvious that Jesus is not referring to castrati when he says, "they were born so from their mothers' womb."
An when he says men become eunuchs for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven is he not possibly referring to the male monks of the Essenes? Gays are born that way...Jesus said so. It's in the Bible. Read it!

Gay-rights law misguided
These discrimination laws on gays are misguided. Discrimination should not be allowed on things a person cannot change, his or her race, age, gender, ethnicity etc. Discrimination should be allowed based on behavior such as criminal activity, cleanliness, sexual habits, etc.
I know some will say they are born gay and can't stop it. But some child molesters say they can't help their behaviour either, but we discriminate against them. You need to draw the line between behavior and a fixed fact and allow a business owner and landlord make his own mind up about behavior. I personally would have no problem hiring or renting to a gay person on that alone, but if a person is disruptive or conflicting the work place based on their behavior on or off the job I do have a problem.
You cannot give special rights to a behavior because there is always someone of that group will abuse it and use it to abuse my rights.

Hey ref, check that clock
Could someone explain to me how come the girls soccer game between Chugiak and Wasiila, at the state championships, was allowed to proceed for 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 minutes after the referee had indicated two minutes were left? The two-minute indication was observed by numerous supporters from both teams. This extension of time allowed Chugiak to score and eventually win the game.
I did watch two other games and believe the officiating was sub par, especially in regard to the elbowing. There were a lot of them thrown and very few calls made.
