BUCS: vs. Oregon Black Sox, 2 p.m., Mulcahy Stadium (AM-1080) PILOTS: vs. Athletes in Action, 7 p.m., Mulcahy Stadium (AM-590) AROUND THE HORN -- The Anchorage Bucs and Glacier Pilots prepared for their head-to-head meeting Wednesday by absorbing defeats Monday night. Mat-Su pitcher Clayton Ehlert allowed just two hits over his six innings to pick up a victory for the Miners. A two-run double by Mat-Su's Nick Cox gave the Miners a 3-0 lead, and they never looked back, even though the Bucs mounted a short-lived two-run ninth-inning rally. Brian Bellow hit a home run for the Bucs and Eddie Young had two hits. But the Miners outhit the Bucs 12-7. -- The Oilers made a fifth-inning sacrifice fly hold up for the winning run at Coral Seymour Park, downing the Michigan Monarchs 3-2. Five Oiler pitchers combined for the victory. -- And second-baseman Eric Lane pounded out three hits as the Oregon Black Sox beat the Pilots 3-1.
