Service wins two

Service's Chase Barrus went 2 for 3 and scored two runs Tuesday when the Cougars (7-3 American Legion, 8-4 overall) edged East 6-4 at Klatt Field. Teammate Garrett Brown struck out seven batters and picked up the win.

On Monday, Barrus went 3 for 4 and finished with three RBIS and two runs to help Service cruise past South 10-5 at Klatt Field.

South sweeps Kenai

Ben Reimer racked up seven hits in seven at-bats for South in a doubleheader sweep of kenai on Monday.

South rode Reimer's 3-of-3 showing and Chris Schierhorn's complete game to a 6-3 win in the opener.

In the second game, pitchers Trevor Allred and Hayden Karnos combined for an 11-0 shutout and Reimer added four more hits.
