The cafe hugs the outside edge of one of Loussac's curving towers and absorbs some of the quiet weight. This cozy hidey-hole with a handful of small tables makes an ideal location for a rainy day lunch. The food selection is limited to paninis ($6) grilled cheese sandwiches ($4.50) and soups of the day ($4). The beverages are more plentiful, with espresso drinks and loose-leaf teas. I opted for the gourmet grilled cheese, a mix of cheddar, Swiss & cream cheeses with a basil pesto spread bound between slices of multi-grain bread. I coupled the sandwich with a chocolate monkey tea by Art of Tea (16 oz. $1.75).
The sandwich was fresh, the bread was hearty and it was served hot and crispy. The tea was robust, but left me craving chocolate more than satisfying my chocoholic habit.
The peaceful atmosphere and comforting fare make this cafe a location worth whispering about.
