Petty Officer Lee Goldsmith says the C-130 dropped food and a radio to the men, who are in good shape.

The men were heading to Amatignak Island on Saturday to pick up surveyors after leaving the 50-foot fishing vessel Larisa M.

The surveyors on shore saw the boat adrift in rough seas and made a makeshift boat, arriving on the Larisa M, where they called the Coast Guard.

An initial Coast Guard helicopter crew found no sign of the men before it had to turn back for refueling. More searchers were then dispatched.
