Anchorage Mayor-elect Dan Sullivan continued his transition Monday, naming three former state and/or city officials to important positions in the administration scheduled to take over next week.
At a press conference Monday, Sullivan announced that Cheryl Frasca will head the Office of Management and Budget, and Nancy Usera will be his labor relations director. Greg Jones, who worked as a planner under the old Anchorage Borough before going into a private sector executive career, will take charge of the Office of Economic and Community Development. Frasca served as budget director for former Gov. Frank Murkowski as well as former Anchorage Mayor George Wuerch. Before that she was a legislative aide. She ran the Office of Management and Budget for Murkowski from 2002 to 2006. Usera headed the departments of labor and administration under former Gov. Wally Hickel, and also served as Hickel's chief of staff. A banker in the private sector, she recently retired as senior vice president for corporate development at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union.
