About 4,000 more homes are eligible for curbside recycling under the expansion, said Katy Suddock, Alaska Waste's recycling coordinator. The company now offers the service to about 40,000 homes across Anchorage, except the Hillside, she said.
The expansions include the stretch of Tudor Road from A Street to Muldoon Road and in Muldoon north of DeBarr Road across to Boniface Parkway, she said. A map of the recycling areas is available at www.alaskawaste.net.
The areas were selected to fill in the gaps between the Alaska Waste service area and that of the city's Solid Waste Services, Suddock said.
The recycling service costs $10.04 per month for a 96-gallon recycling cart that is collected every other week.
