AROUND THE HORN

-- The Mat-Su Miners scored all four runs in the third inning to beat the Anchorage Bucs 4-3 at Mulcahy Stadium, giving them the lead in the Alaska Baseball League on Thursday.

Leftfielder James Ramsey led the Miners with one run, two hits and three RBIs, and teammate Shane Brown finished with one hit and one RBI.

Bucs second-baseman Eddie Young furnished one run, one hit, and one RBI.

-- In the top of the first inning, Glacier Pilot infielder Josh Meagher singled, driving in Jason Coats to give the Pilots a 1-0 lead over the Peninsula Oilers that lasted until the top of the seventh, when Trevor Hairgrove hit into a double play, bringing Reyes across the plate for a 2-0 victory at Coral Seymour Memorial Ballpark.

Pilot pitchers Logan Darnell and Matt Larkins each struck out four batters.

-- Ben Minard went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs to lead the Athletes in Action to a 8-3 victory over the Fairbanks Goldpanners at Growden Memorial Park.

Ryan Gebhart went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for AIA.
