AROUND THE HORN

-- The Peninsula Oilers scored three runs in the second inning Monday and exploded in a rare scoring feast, topping the Anchorage Bucs 7-1. Big left-handed starter Kevin Rath of Cal State Fullerton gave up one run in his five innings of work for the Oilers' victory.

-- Anthony Hutting and Josh Meagher both drove in runs during a three-run seventh inning that gave the Anchorage Glacier Pilots a 4-1 lead, and the home team cruised to a victory over the Fairbanks Goldpanners at Mulcahy Stadium. The Pilots piled up 14 hits on the way to victory.

-- The Mat-Su Miners piled up seven runs in the third inning to vault them to a 13-7 victory over AIA Fire. The Miners prospered by looking, drawing five walks in the third inning along with two hits, a wild pitch and a hit batsman.
