Potpourri returns The Anchorage Museum, 625 C st., has resumed it's popular Summer Art Potpourrui series, with a revolving roster of Alaska artists selling their work in the atrium from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day this month. Museum members get a 10 percent discount on purchases. Artists featured in the lineup include Ed Mighell (clay tiles), Lisa Blanchard (glasswork) and Millie Spezialy (author). We're particulary intrigued by concert pianist Juliana Osinchuk who, starting next Thursday, will be there to show and sell her jewelry. Fiber art, basketry and woodwor are also in the offing. art Grill joins First Friday menu Mixx Grill in the Inlet Tower, 1200 L Street, debuts into the First Friday scene today with "Mixx it up!" a group show featuring local artists. Christina Anne Barber has curated a show of mixed media and traditional oil paintings by various local artists including Indra Arriaga, Katherine Coons, Cloud Medicine Crown, Yuliya Helgesen-Thompson, Siobhan O'Hara and Sharon Trager. The show opens with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and runs until August 31. theater In our next scummy episode... "Midnight Soapscum" is billed as "Alaska's only live soap opera," with story line that advances every week, leading to a "Big Fat Gay Wedding" on July 18. This weeken, the plot gets deeper and darker as Caribou Barbie and her cohorts execute the beginning stages of their master plan to bring down Madame Svetlana Smirnov for supporting gay marriage.
