Derek Snelson of Anchorage, driving his Jet Funny Car, was runner up at the Night of Fire event at Champion Raceway in Medford, Ore. on Saturday. Snelson went 260 mph in an estimated 6.16 seconds, trailing Barry Richards of Chicago, who ran 5.54 seconds, averaging 280 mph.
