Oatley, Tower win Fireweed 400-miler

Oatley beat runner-up Chet Ferhman (23:12:59) by more than three hours.

Janice Tower, the lone woman to take on the 400-mile journey, claimed victory in 25:43:59.

In the men's 50-mile road race, Kevin Donley (2:00:18) edged Matt Novakovich (2:00:18.5) by half a second and Sheryl Loan (2:00:21.5) beat second-place Tiffany Novakovich (2:12:48.4) by about 12 minutes.

Donley's wife Shannon won the 50-mile solo event in 2:03:32 to post the fastset time among men and women. Jason Potsander was the top man in 2:04:13.

In the 200-mile road race that ended in Valdez, Logan Hanneman edged Wyatt Mayo by one second to win in 9:15:09 and Kristin Wolf took the women's title. The 200-mile solo wins went to Aaron Cravez and Teri Arion.
