Bold color for snowy city
For two weeks, artist Peggie Hunnicutt's "Color Spill" show of paintings has been hanging at Snow City Cafe, 1340 W. 4th Ave. But it won't be official until the official "opening reception" at 5:30 p.m. tonight. "I'm a colorist and not shy about it," says Hunnicutt, known for her watercolors and acrylic still lifes -- often capturing the subtleties of glass. But the new show also has "alter ego" pieces in vibrant colors. "Alaska is so cold," she says, "(but) these paintings are anything but that."
